Welcome to module five of the evidence analysis center orientation tutorial. This is the last module in the series designed to help acquaint you with the academy's evidence analysis reviews and guidelines. This module will cover the academy's process to disseminate this important information and help implement the guidelines upon completion of this module. You will understand how the academy disseminates the results of its reviews or guidelines, how to implement a guideline into practice and learn about different resources generated from eal content. The work of the expert panel might be over but the work is not complete unless the results are put into practice. Let's learn a little bit about this process. These results need to be disseminated to practitioners so that the research can be translated into practice. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics utilizes multiple methods to accomplish this goal. The E A is the primary source of dissemination of Academy systematic reviews and evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines. The E A has received over 24 million page views and has been accessed in over 200 countries and geographical areas. Users include academy members, individual subscribers and group subscribers such as university libraries, government agencies and International Dietetic Associations. Once a review or guideline has been finalized, the expert panel develops a manuscript for publication in the journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and other peer review journals. This helps ensure wide dissemination of the results and implementation of the recommendations. By now, you are familiar with the E A framework. Once the systematic review is complete, the project team addresses the question is this topic controversial, confusing, important for policy or requires clarification. If the answer is yes and the evidence was graded one or two, they can develop an academic position statement if the answer to the question was yes, but the evidence received a grade of three. The expert panel can develop a consensus report. Here are two examples of recent positions. The first is from the nutrition screening adult systematic review. The expert panel developed a position statement based on good evidence from the review. The nutritional genomics expert panel were unable to develop a position statement because the evidence was limited. Since the topic was confusing, controversial and important for policy. The expert panel developed a consensus report. These powerpoint presentations are a great way to disseminate a guideline. They include the guideline recommendations and ratings and are ideal for meetings and training members of your health care team to implement the recommendations and they are free from each project's landing page or guideline dissemination page. The academy uses its social media platforms to disseminate important findings. Follow US on Facebook X, formerly known as Twitter and Instagram. The Academy incorporates important research findings in many resources such as the nutrition care, manual books and pocket guides, webinars and much more these resources help implement the recommendations visit. Right. Store.org. For additional information, the Academy provides resources to help dieticians implement the recommendations. Let's take a look.
